" Albina came to our home to assess our baby girl and assist us with breastfeeding. She was very polite and respectful, and super encouraging. As a mom herself, she understands how difficult and all-consuming feeding issues can be. Our little one had a tongue and upper lip tie that we personally felt didn’t need to be revised. According to our pediatrician the ties were minimal, so we did not feel that a tie revision was necessary despite our feeding difficulties (poor latch, weak suck, poor milk transfer), and we also knew that tie revisions didn’t always fix feeding issues either. So we didn’t want to do a procedure unnecessarily when it might not have even improved our situation. We reached out to Albina after learning she had witnessed the same phenomenon with other parents. She gave us tools to use to improve baby’s experience at the breast, which did help us over time rid of baby’s preference (she preferred to nurse on the L side and not the R) and decrease her frustration with nursing overall. We also were given ways to help strengthen her suck to help with more adequate milk transfer. I appreciate Albina’s expertise and will likely be looking to her when our little one starts the introduction of solids."
